Joe Wong Man Hon is a local Hong Kong artist with a passion for tradition, heritage and history.  His goal is to make traditional art resonate with younger generations by giving it a contemporary expression. This is one of the reasons Joe decided to focus on the art of traditional Chinese paper cutting. To Joe, the art of paper cutting embodies two important Chinese innovations - the invention of paper, and the development of an art form which combines paper with a pair of scissors that is the art of paper cutting. 
Joe works with different paper-makers to introduce new nuances of colour that speak a contemporary language. In addition, his creative layering technique - with different shades of paper - creates new dimensions for paper cutting expression and gives his art pieces more depth and his creativity more possibilities.
